Scopes of the workshop:

Nanostructured functional materials as particulates, composites and thin films are being used for a diversity of applications, including consumer goods and complex devices for energy conversion, water purification and surface modification, e.g. self cleaning, anti-adhesion, etc..

Research and development, industrial and academic, in the field have seen fast growth in the last years, as the number of publications and patents demonstrates.

The 3rd international workshop on smart materials and structures will be entirely devoted to these materials, bringing together scientists and developers to present latest results and discuss future developments in the following fields: 

- Nanostructured inorganic materials, monolithic and nanocomposites

- Hybrid materials

- Polymeric materials and nanocomposites
